NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC - New Hanover County is seeking input from residents on the design of the new skate park to be located at Ogden Park.
The lead designer from Grindline Skateparks of Seattle, Washington will be on hand to seek input from the local skating community as to what kind of features they would like to see into the design.  Grindline has designed some of the most exciting, innovative, and popular skate parks in the U.S.  Residents are welcome to give feedback on design options for the new skate park.
Skate Park Design Input Meeting
When: Feb. 24, 2015 at 6 p.m.
Where:  Eaton Elementary School (Multipurpose room), 6701 Gordon Rd.
Why a Skate Park?
Skateboarding has been a part of New Hanover County’s culture since its origins in the 1950’s. Nationwide, there are more than 12 million active skateboarders and here in our County, the numbers of skateboarders exceeds the number of safe, legal places for them to skate. A new skate park will immediately fill a need for hundreds of avid skaters, especially skaters from the northern parts of the County including Wrightsville Beach. The closest skate park to this location is over nine miles away in downtown Wilmington. The other skate park in the area is located even further away in Carolina Beach.
