CAROLINA BEACH - Carolina Beach Police arrested 31-year-old Adam Corey Day of Harper Avenue last weekend in connection to a reported stabbing case which occurred Sunday March 1st shortly before 4AM in the morning. Day was charged with one felony count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Inflict Serious Injury and one felony count of Common Law Robbery. Carolina Beach Police Chief Ken Hinkle said the victim - 52-year-old Gregory Nelson of Harper Avenue - was stabbed once. His injury was not life threatening and he was taken to the hospital and released within a short time. Hinkle said detectives were not sure about what brought on the incident, but determined it resulted in the assault and common law robbery. He said Day gave his last address as living in the 800 block of Harper Avenue, but was known to "come and go in Carolina Beach" and hasn't been in Town for some time. Hinkle said police discovered Day had a warrant out for his arrest for "financial card fraud" in Carteret County, North Carolina. Day was arrested by Carolina Beach Police Sunday morning March 8th.
