Man Found Guilty Of Possessing Pictures Taken Up Minors Dress Featured

NEW HANOVER CTY : April 10th, 2015 - Duncan Hart Wilkie was found guilty after trial this week of two counts of possessing photos that were obtained by using a camera to secretly peep on a minor. He was found not guilty of four counts of secret peeping.
Mr. Wilkie was charged with secretly peeping on a child during church services at Lifepoint church in 2011, when he was both a member of the church and worked on the church’s security team.
The defendant was found guilty of possessing two photographs that were taken underneath the dress of a minor during church services at the Lifepoint Church. The evidence presented at trial included testimony that Lifepoint church leaders Daryl Strickland and George Kapusta were notified in 2011 that the defendant was in possession of these images; however the leadership of Lifepoint church never notified the child or her parents that the images existed. The leadership of Lifepoint church also never notified the child or her parents that the defendant was in possession of the photographs.
The Honorable J.D. Hockenbury sentenced the defendant to three years’ probation, with a suspended sentence of 6 – 8 months. He does not have to register as a sex offender.
