 The 40th Anniversary East Coast Got Em On King Mackerel Classic brought in some big fish with this year’s winner snagging a 54.36 lb catch by Ronnie Miller Jr aboard “Ron-Jon” of Wilmington. Total winnings for that team was $35,773. The event saw three King Mackerel over 50 lbs. This past weekend 184 boats hit the water for the East Coast Got Em On King Mackerel Classic. The 40th Anniversary brought in some big fish with this year’s winner snagging a 54.36lb catch by Ronnie Miller Jr aboard “Ron-Jon” of Wilmington. 2nd Place went to Zack Shackleton of Shallotte aboard “Rasta Rocket” with a 52.28lb catch and 3rd went to William Hughes of Ocean Isle aboard “Bay Pirate” with a 50.38lb catch. If you missed the tournament this year make sure you attend the 41st Annual East Coast Got Em On King Mackerel Classic next year! “The East Coast Got Em On King Mackerel Classic is known to provide a weekend long celebration for not only Anglers and their families, but spectators alike.  Featuring live music both Friday and Saturday nights, tournament headquarters is a fun place to be, even after the afternoon weigh ins are over.   This event has proven to be successful in our community for such a long time because of the hard working and dedicated volunteers working diligently behind the scenes all year long.  All of our staff are serving on a strictly volunteer basis, the monies raised by this tournament stay right in this community supporting our Fire Departments with additional equipment and training, and the Got Em On Live Bait Club’s Marine Science Scholarships offered at UNCW and Cape Fear Community College.

The largest fish was a king mackerel weighing in at 54.36 – this fish was weighed Saturday afternoon at 2:15pm by Ronnie Miller fishing Ron-Jon out of Wilmington NC -  Total winnings for this team was $35,773
