CAROLINA BEACH - Canal Drive in Carolina Beach is known for flooding during lunar high tides. According to the National Weather Service Wilmington Office, the tide prediction for the Cape Fear River in downtown Wilmington was predicted to be 4.61 feet on Monday and Tuesday, but actually measured around 5.59 feet above flood stage. This was due to wind and tidal stages.
