This past Friday the Island of Lights Committee put on another spectacular Annual Christmas Parade. 104 official entries were made this year including the Grand Marshall “The pink Fire Truck Claudia from the Pink Heals - Cape Fear NC Chapter” who led the parade followed by town officials, local Boy and Girl Scouts, clubs, groups, churches, bands, businesses, princesses and more. Friends, families and neighbors lined up along the sides of the Lake Park Boulevard between Atlanta Avenue and Federal Point Shopping Center to watch brightly lit floats, collectable cars and decorated trailers go by. The Christmas Parade has been a continued Holiday tradition for many area families.
The organization works very hard all year long to make sure this event gets bigger and better each year.  This year’s parade and flotilla was a huge success and the Island of Lights deserves special thanks for bringing us such a festive and exciting event each year.  The Island of Lights would like to offer a special thanks to the Towns of Carolina and Kure Beaches along with the Carolina Beach Police Department, Chief Hinkle and the Town Manager Mr. Michael Cramer.  A final thank you is offered to the participants of the parade, flotilla and all of the people who come to Carolina Beach to watch every year.
