CAROLINA BEACH - A Bojangles restaurant may be coming to Carolina Beach in the future. Plans were submitted to the Town's Planning and Zoning Department on Thursday December 12th.

The proposed location is 1341 N. Lake Park Blvd adjacent to Walgreens and the Food Lion shopping center.

Plans show a 3,144 square foot building with dual drive-thru menu boards and street access from N. Lake Park Blvd, Bridge Barrier Road and interconnectivity with the Walgeens parking lot.

The Town's Technical Review Committee considered the plans during their December 16th, meeting. That committee is made up of Town Department heads including Police, Fire, Public Works, Planning Department and other Town staff. They review the application and discuss plans for a new development.

An application was previously submitted to the Town of Carolina Beach in August 2019 to obtain a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to build a SpringHill Suites, by Marriott, at 1341 N. Lake Park Blvd adjacent to Walgreens.

The application was submitted by Avon Park Holdings, LLC of Greenville SC.  The project will occupy 1.95 acres on two vacant properties.

A SpringHill Suites currently operates at Mayfaire Town Center in Wilmington, NC.

Another development group submitted preliminary plans to build a Wendy's restaurant on the same property in September of 2018 but that project never materialized.

Bob Spalding of The Isaacs Group of Charlotte North Carolina submitted the plans to the Town.

The property was formerly owned as part of the Snow's Cut Crossing Shopping Center (Food Lion). It was sold to another party as an out parcel of the center in the early 2000's for $555,000.
