NEW HANOVER CTY -    Getting the COVID-19 vaccine in New Hanover County can be a long-shot unless you monitor the County's website daily or sign up for email alerts and even then, appointments are booked at a fast pace leaving many people to wait for the next available round of vaccines.
However, their are other sources of the vaccine within the County.
According to County officials on Tuesday March 16th, all appointments for this week’s COVID-19 vaccinations through New Hanover County Health and Human Services’ Public Health are now full.
County officials explained, "As additional vaccine supply is received, the county will open additional appointments to ensure that even more people who are eligible can get the vaccine. To receive text or email alerts when additional appointments through Public Health are open, residents can sign up for COVID-19 updates" at www.nhcgov.com.
New Hanover County Health Department isn't the only option for getting the vaccine. Other sources include:
• NHRMC: Visit nhrmc.org/coronavirus or call (910) 662-2020.

rus, and check your vaccine eligibility group at FindMyGroup.NC.gov.
Editor's Note: I signed up for email alerts by visiting www.nhcgov.com and clicking on "Contact Us" at the top of the page. Folow the instructions and sign up for all of the alerts for related to "Public Health". When appointments are offered, you will recieve and email alert. Once you get an email, act fast because they typicaly fill up with one to two hours or less. Once you are able to sign up for an appointment, it only takes a couple of minutes to fill out an online form.
