The Board will be taking a break for July and August. The next meeting will be on September 8th. Our Car Wash Fundraiser was a success. We made $200 and we were able to give the Boy Scouts $30 in tips. We want to thank the Scouts for their community service for our Senior Center. The Help Center’s fundraiser, the Chinese auction, is scheduled for July 31st this year starting at 10 a.m. We want to support them by having a good turn out. Mark your calendars and plan on attending and having fun.
We are needing players for Marhjohnn, please contact Anne Pugh at 540-2983 if you are interested. A flea market is being planned for September 11th from 8-3. Please reserve your space inside for $15 or outside space for $10. 8’ tables will be provided inside but you will need to provide your own table for space up to 8’ outside.
The Italian Club, Memoirs class, and Quilters are taking a break for the summer. These activities will resume in September. The Senior free bingo at the Moose Lodge will also be breaking for the summer and will start again in September. Please check out our member’s booths at the Farmers Market Saturday mornings at the Lake. One booth is manned by the basket makers and They will be selling baskets and other items. The Help Center will be selling cold bottles of water at the Farmers Market Saturday mornings so stop by and get your water while shopping. Line dancing is every other week now, scheduled for Aug 9 and 23, resumes weekly September 13th. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We still need you to help us out. We are needing a cook, kitchen help, hairdresser, people to decorate for the holidays or special events, and a yard worker. Thanks for volunteering. If you have been volunteering, have you remembered to sign the book? We need your donations in the way of advertising posters for your business to raise funds to purchase new chairs for the dining room. At least 25 new chairs are needed. The cost of a chair is approximately $20 a piece. Donations accepted. Every Tuesday in July, Agape Kids will entertain us and we will be playing games and socializing with them. These are kids from the various churches around the nation who travel to see us. Please place this information on your calendar and come join the fun. This is an evening event, starting at 7:00 p.m. A nurse from Kelly Medical will be here every third Thursday from 11-12 to take your blood pressure. Help support Kelly Medical as they are our local supplier for our medical supplies. If you haven’t attended Bingo on Thursday nights for a while, come and check out the prizes. You can play for $3 per 3 packs. You can play free the first Thursday of every month by bringing 3 cans of food to be donated to the Help Center.
