NEW HANOVER CTY - The New Hanover County Sheriff's Department seized the largest amount of heroin in its history on Wednesday January 9.
According to Sergeant J.J. Brewer, after a month long investigation of Tierre Henderson, Sheriff's Department Vice and Narcotics Detectives arrested Henderson with 300 bags of heroin and, "a large amount of drug paraphernalia. The bags of heroin were stamped "Breaking Dawn" and "Dream Catcher".
Detectives said the heroin had a street value of over $9,000.00.
Sergeant Brewer explained detectives expanded their investigation of Henderson which led them to Chrissy Joy Sinclair at a residence in Holly Ridge.
Brewer explained, "With the assistance of the Holly Ridge Police Department, a search of the home was executed and 5.5 ounces of pure uncut heroin was seized along with $60,000 in cash."
Detectives said the heroin would produce over 15,000 bags of heroin to be sold on the streets of New Hanover County.
Tierre Henderson and Chrissy Sinclair are in the New Hanover County Detention Facility.
In a press release issued by the Sheriff's Department Sheriff Ed McMahon said, "Each one of these bags represents a life that was saved by not allowing this poison to hit the streets of New Hanover County".
