• 3/19 - Ashley fourth-inning burst enough to top Southern Wayne, 9-1 - Ashley took down Southern Wayne 9-1 on Thursday at Ashley after slamming Southern Wayne with five runs in the fourth inning. Chris Hicks racked up two RBIs on two hits for Ashley. Hicks singled in the first inning and tripled in the fourth inning. Sam Cavanaugh got the win for Ashley thanks to nine strikeouts. Ashley's pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only two hits.
Ashley went up for good in the first, scoring two runs on a sacrifice fly by Justin Ray and a steal of home by Chance Shepard. Ashley tacked on another two runs in the second. The inning got off to a hot start when Eric Eason singled, scoring Corey Irwin. That was followed up by that scored Eason.
• 3/22 - Early lead gives Ashley easy victory over West Carteret, 12-0 - Ashley shut the door early on West Carteret, capturing a 12-0 victory on Friday at West Carteret. With six runs in the first three innings, Ashley left no doubt about the eventual outcome.
A wild pitch, an RBI single by Sam Cavanaugh, a sacrifice fly by Justin Ray, and in the first inning and an RBI double by Christian Wolfe in the second inning supplied the early offense for Ashley. Wolfe racked up three RBIs on three hits for Ashley.
Eric Eason looked sharp on the rubber. Eason held West Carteret hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked five and struck out five. Ashley ran wild on the base paths, finishing with seven steals. Cavanaugh and Eason each had one stolen base, Chris Hicks had two stolen bases, and Wolfe had three stolen bases.
Matt Davis threw one inning of scoreless ball for Ashley.
Ashley increased its lead with six runs in the fifth. The inning looked promising, as Eason doubled, bringing home Ray and Brian Stokes to kick things off. That was followed up by Wolfe's double, plating Eason and Pantelis Miliotis.
