Carolina Beach Fishing Pier And The High Tide Lounge

Carolina Beach is home to a 700-foot pier extending into the Atlantic Ocean, the pier offers the perfect setting for fishing or simply enjoying scenic views.  The pier is located at the end of the northern extension of Pleasure Island.  The Carolina Beach Fishing Pier is open twenty-four hours a day from April through November.   Some of the best fishing on the island is offered from the pier and the views are exquisite.
The Carolina Beach Fishing Pier offers fisherman a variety of new equipment to purchase or to rent and has a supply of bait and tackle.  The pier contains a convenient cleaning sink.  The charge for general fishing with one or two rods is $7 and King Mackerel three-rod fishing is $12.  Shark and float fishing, as well as, cast nets and crab pots are not permitted on the pier.
The Carolina Beach Fishing Pier features a snack bar and grill called the Pier House Grill that is currently open 24 hours on the weekends and until between midnight and 3:00 am during the week. High Tide Lounge & Café is located on the third level above the grill and fishing pier; they have full ABC permits and feature live music.   The upstairs offers a breezy outdoor patio from which you can watch the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean and enjoy an evening among the stars with fantastic panoramic views of the ocean. 
The pier is open to anyone who simply wants to enjoy a stroll to the end and look out over the water.  The Carolina Beach Fishing Pier is the ideal place to spend an afternoon relaxing and an evening of live entertainment enjoying the natural beach surroundings.  Parking is free for all fishermen, and you may purchase an all day parking pass for $10 if you simply want to sit on the beach. 
If you are interested in an ice-cold beer or a mixed drink, than walk up to the top level and enter High Tide Lounge formerly called Flounders and indulge. The lounge offers 30 different selections of beer with several on draft.
They have full ABC permits and one of the friendly bartenders can whip up a refreshing cocktail to be enjoyed on the deck or inside the lounge. High Tide Lounge contains a pool table, electronic dartboards, and two Mega touch machines for your gaming enjoyment. In addition there is an Internet Juke Box featuring over 500,000 musical selections, and 4 large TV’s from which to check out the latest in the sporting world.
The High Tide Lounge is available for all of your private party needs. They are fully equipped to handle wedding receptions and group events. If you are looking for the “best view of the island on the island,” then look no further than The Carolina Beach Fishing Pier & High Tide Lounge. They offer panoramic views of the North End and the Eastern side of the island from the spacious wrap around deck of High Tide Lounge located on the top level of the Carolina Beach Fishing Pier. The magnificent landscape will take your breath away as you relax and absorb the beauty of the island.
Coming soon to the High Tide Lounge and the Carolina Beach Fishing Pier is the 3rd Annual “Battle for the North End Cup” Volleyball Tournament.  This tournament is a fundraiser for the Carolina Beach Lifeguard Association.  There will be a full day of fun and festivities to include volleyball, sand castle building, Pier Golf, and a raffle.  Call Chuck Dunlap at 910 228-2764 for more information. 
High Tide Lounge is open seven days a week for the season.  You must be 21 or older in order to enter the High Tide Lounge. You may reach the High Tide Lounge information line at 910 458-0807.
They are the last stop on the north end of the island. Directions from Carolina Beach: Turn towards the ocean on Harper Avenue (Bank of America on the corner) Straight thru the next light and around the curve onto Carolina Beach Avenue North.
