Town To Hold Hurricane Emergency Information Meeting For Residents

CAROLINA BEACH - Are you prepared if a major hurricane occurs here this season? Lack of hurricane awareness and preparation are common threads in disasters. To assist residents in preparing for the upcoming hurricane season, the Town of Carolina Beach is offering a Hurricane Preparedness Meeting on Monday, May 21, 2007 at 6 p.m. at Town Hall. This meeting will provide crucial emergency and hurricane preparedness information.
All residents are encouraged to attend, especially those who are new to the area or inexperienced in dealing with hurricanes. Urge your homeowners association or neighborhood watch committees to attend. New Hanover County Emergency Management Director Warren Lee will join Town of Carolina Beach Fire Chief Brian Roberts and Police Chief Billy Younginer in answering questions and providing the latest information on local hurricane policies and procedures. Information will be presented on: the town’s bridge closing policy, area shelters, evacuation routes, emergency procedures and pet-friendly lodging.
