(Pictured Above:) Joseph Michael Dorst
A golden heart stopped beating on Saturday April 28, 2007. Joey is now at peaceful rest. God called him home to prove to all that he only takes the best.
Joseph Michael Dorst of Carolina Beach, N. C. was a loving son, father, mate, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. Joey was 31.
Joey was a gifted artist, who loved music, the woods, family, fishing, animals and being in the water. He had a special fondness for the Black River and the wooded land around it, planning to build a home next to his parents there, one day.
Joey loved the sound of laughter and created it everywhere he went.
He enjoyed a good practical joke, including those played on him. Joey leaves to miss him and cherish his memory: his Ma and Pop / Martha(Marty) and Scott Maisel of Kure Beach, Fiance’ Amanda Rice, Two precious daughters, Hayden and Ayana, who were his pride and joy, Sister Shelia Perry, her husband Artie, and their two sons, Trey and Drew, Sister Tammy and brother David Dorst both of Cincinnati Ohio.
Joey also had a special Aunt and Uncle, Mary and Mark Laub and treasured cousins,
Julie and Mark, all of Harrison, Indiana. Joey’s Grandma Elsie Dorst along with a very large and loving family too numerous to name, all from Cincinnati, Ohio along with countless cherished friends who will also miss Joey’s quick whit, easy smile and sweet spirit.
A memorial service will be held Saturday May 5, 2007 at The Community Church - 4th and Cape Fear Blvd. Carolina Beach, N.C. beginning at 2:00, with Pastor Charles Hill officiating.
