New Hanover County Commissioners To Consider Tax Value Appeals May 7

Monday, May 7 - 5:30 p.m.

New Hanover County Commissioners, sitting as the Board of Equalization and Review, will meet Monday, May 7.   In order toaccommodate and process  informal property tax revaluation appeals, appealswhich have been received and not responded to with either a change in value or no value change, will be moved forward into the formal appeal process.Taxpayers whose informal appeals have been responded to with a value changeor no value change and who still wish to appeal the tax value must file a formal appeal in writing, to the New Hanover County Tax Department, 230Government Center Dr., Suite 190, Wilmington, NC 28403 by 5:30 P.M. May 7,2007.

The Tax Department should respond to all previously filed informal appeals within 45 days.  Property owners who do not agree with the notice (taxvalue) they receive during that period, must notify the Tax Department oftheir intention to be heard by the Board of Equalization and Review by completing the lower portion.
