Pleasure Island Day of Hope Project

Grab your favorite PINK outfit and mark your calendar for Saturday, September 29th, 2012 to attend the Pleasure Island Day of Hope at Uncle Vinny’s. The event will be held from Noon until 9:00pm and include food, raffles, live music, face painting, 50/50 and more! Pink ribbons, t-shirts and bracelets will also be on sale and a perfect way to show your support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.  Proceeds from the evening will go to The Pink Ribbon Project at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Facts about breast cancer: 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with some form of breast cancer. Although rare, men can get breast cancer too. The Pink Ribbon Project at NHRMC transitions a patient from diagnosis to treatment with their "comfort bags". Pleasure Island has not been untouched by this disease. Come help us raise awareness and help your family member, friend and neighbor get the screening and treatment necessary! Pink Ribbons can be purchased during the entire month of September at the following locations: Southern Digital (Located at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk), Uncle Vinny’s and Island Chic (Located at 716 N. Lake Park Boulevard) at $5 each and are a great way for any home or business to show their support!
