Join the Bucket Brigade

The Saint Paul's United Methodist Men (UMM) group has formed The Bucket Brigade and are recruiting volunteers island wide. The Brigade will help UMM in it's cleaning buckets for victims of super storm Sandy campaign. A cleaning bucket is a 5 gallon plastic bucket filled with 15 different cleaning items. A completed bucket cost 50 dollars. The buckets will be delivered to the United Methodists Committee on Relief at Goldsboro for distribution. The committee has already shipped over 4000 buckets to the storm damaged area. United Methodist Men have designed a two pronged approach to the campaign. The first is to ask for a monetary donation. This approach will allow for the purchase of individual items in bulk and at wholesale prices. You or your group can purchase a whole bucket for 50 dollars, a half bucket for 25 dollars, or if those prices are too steep a donation in any amount would be welcomed. Checks can sent to St. Paul's UMC, 300 Harper Avenue, Carolina Beach NC 28428. Checks should be made out to St. Paul's UMM with cleaning buckets on the memo line. The second approach is to allow individuals or groups to collect the individual cleaning items. Since all the items have specific sizes and specifications, they must all fit into the 5 gallon bucket, Saint Paul's web site www.stpaulscb.org has posted a list of the items with their size and specifications. Any brand of an item that fits the list would be acceptable. Remember that if Sandy had turned West a few hundred miles south our Island would have taken the hit. For additional information and to volunteer your time and effort please contact Ken Badoian at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 910-452-7281.
All individuals, businesses, social, patriotic, and civic group are welcome to join the Brigade. Our preliminary goal is 250 buckets. We can do it.
