No matter what technology graces us with its presence there is still nothing quite as enthralling as sitting down and getting lost in a great book. Something about the feel of the cover, the texture of the pages and the placement of your favorite bookmark makes it an experience like no other. The Two Sisters Bookery located in Historic Downtown Wilmington at the Cotton Exchange captures the spirit of great storytelling within their quaint independently owned bookstore. The shelves are loaded with great reads and they have something for everyone.
Visiting the Two Sisters Bookery is an experience in itself as the setting of the Cotton Exchange is fun and unique. Every corner, nook and cranny of the shop holds interesting titles that catch your eye as you browse. You will find everything from treasured classics to contemporary and more.
Two Sisters Bookery has been a favorite of book lovers for years. The shops newest owner Barbara H. Galvin has kept one of the Wilmington areas most beloved bookshops alive and well. Barbara purchased the store in October of 2011 and brings with her a wealth of experience with nearly 15 years in bookstore management and over 30 years in management and sales. “We pride ourselves in our regional history titles and carry the works of many local authors. Whether you are looking for a Coastal Carolina cookbook, a quick lesson in local history, Wilmington ghost tales, or eCivil War in Wilmington, we are the store for you.” Their local section contains a vast assortment of great titles, and as required in any Cape Fear area bookstore you will find a whole section devoted to pirates including tons of fascinating and imaginative stories that children will love!
We have a wonderful children’s section with both classic & new sbooks, many with matching character dolls and stuffed animals.
Two Sisters Bookery also offers a variety of book related accessories like bookends, reading lights, journals and more. “We offer an assortment of bookmarks, unique greeting cards, rsun readers,Tiffany style lamps and umbrellas. While you're here, peruse our selection of first editions, collectibles, and signed books.”
They are open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and on Sundays from noon until 4:00 p.m. Stop in and find your next favorite book today!
