The Shuckin’ Shack in Carolina Beach is Pleasure Island’s own authentic Oyster Bar that features succulent seafood and good times.
True to the traditional coastal Carolina oyster bars of yesteryear the Shuckin’ Shack is based on the idea that great food amongst friends and family is all you need to have a great time! The Shuckin’ Shack isn’t simply a restaurant, it’s not simply a bar, it’s a casual social gathering spot that captures Pleasure Island’s laid back style. The entire place is covered in local artwork, Carolina Beach nostalgia and more all lit by oyster bucket lanterns hanging overhead.
The menu at the Shuckin’ Shack may seem simple and straight to the point but what it features is the very best steamed seafood in the area. If you are lucky enough to be living at or visiting the coast then why not take advantage of the freshest seafood while you are just steps away from where it was caught! Oysters are always available at the Shuckin’ Shack and they are more than happy to shuck them for you if you don’t like to get your hands dirty. Those who like to work for their food will find that nothing is quite as rewarding as getting through that shell to the treasure inside. Go ahead and get as many as you want by the dozen, half peck or even whole peck steamed to perfection. In addition to all the oysters you can handle the Shuckin’ Shack also specializes in other steamed seafood staples like shrimp, clams, mussels, crab legs and crab claws. Pick your favorite and add a side or just go big and get a steampot and enjoy a little bit of everything. Try the Shuckin’ Shacks version of Surf and Turf by pairing your favorite seafood with some of the best wings you have ever tasted available in the Shuckin’ Shacks own Mild, Hot, Teriyaki, or Honey Barbeque sauces.
