There are some great items coming into Footprints Boutique for the fall season and even for Christmas. In addition to décor items, they have added handmade jewelry and a beautiful selection of hand-crocheted scarves and afghans for the coming cooler months.
They have locally made pottery and some gorgeous quilted wall hangings that are suitable for framing. While there are paintings by area artists, they also have a selection of unique gift items, most of which are in the $10 to $20 range.
The boutique is hopeful that the local community will embrace the idea of doing their Christmas shopping locally, and supporting the great artisans featured at Footprints. What better present than a unique locally made item that will not only be pleasing to the recipient, but will support the creativity in the community.
Footprints hosted a booth at the recent Island Day, and assisted more than 100 area children in creating “marble paintings” … their own original artwork. Many families left their paintings to dry, but forgot to retrieve them when they left the event. They have been kept at Footprints, and welcome the children to stop by any time to pick up their art.
Because Footprints is family owned and operated, they greatly enjoyed coming out to support the community and offer family-friendly activities for the children. For that reason, Footprints also supports Carolina Beach Elementary and they are looking forward to contributing to their upcoming Fall Festival. (Their two youngest artists, Bronson and Elijah Rogers, are students at CBES) Footprints Boutique has items created by 15 local artisans, and there are still vendor spaces available, and they would love to add a few new artists and crafters to the Footprints family before the holidays. If you are a crafter, this is a way to display and sale your works without making a large investment. The vendors are responsible for stocking their own space, but, there are people there to run the store and do the sale transactions.
You will find oil paintings, unique uses of recycled materials, and is the only retail venue for Lativa coffee. The crafters listen to the suggestions of the customers’ needs, if you want something that is not available at the time of your visit, most crafters will see that it is there the next time you come into the store. This is a place to find that unique, handmade gift or souvenir. All items are reasonably priced. Each booth owner offers their own discounts periodically. So, if you are looking for those special hand-crafted gifts, take the time and come and visit Footprints.
Footprints Boutique is located at 1140-H N. Lake Park Blvd., Carolina Beach.
