Jack Mackerel’s Island Grill is one of Pleasure Island’s favorite dining options that specializes in authentic island style seafood flavors and delicious fare that appeals to everyone’s taste.  The restaurant’s menu offers a variety of delectable items. Oyster Po’boys, chicken parmesan and fresh fried grouper, prime rib, shrimp and grits, seared scallop risotto, great appetizers like the crab dip which is so good and a full bar with ABC permits. They are always something new to enjoy. It is open seven days for lunch and dinner. There is also outside seating to enjoy the weather. They also offer large group accommodations, for a bridal party to birthday party or just a function that needs space. Work with the chef to come up with a great menu for your party’s needs. And if you just want to watch some sports they also have the NFL ticket and you can watch your favorite team on the wide screen televisions. Watch for their 40 percent off entrees on Wednesdays during the off season. Some more menu items are Jack’s wrapped scallops, which are jumbo scallops wrapped in sliced prosciutto and broiled with fontina cheese; Calypso chicken wings, 12 wings served with your choice of sauce and includes celery and blue cheese; crispy calamari, fresh tender calamari dredged in Jack’s secret seasoned flour and fried crisp and served with marinara sauce; the Old Bay chips, thinly sliced white potatoes fried and dusted with Old Bay seasoning served with malt vinegar and that is just a few of the appetizers.
In the soup category is Jack Mackerel’s Award Winning seafood chowder; steamed oysters and clams; in addition to the house salad they offer a grilled salmon salad, a grilled fillet over mixed greens with roasted red peppers, red onions, bacon bits, roma tomatoes and lemon caper vinaigrette; Caribbean Cobb shrimp salad, which is grilled jerked on mixed greens with fresh mozzarella, blue cheese, tomatoes, fresh pineapple and pepper bacon bits drizzled with aged balsamic vinaigrette and extra virgin olive oil.
Now onto the entrees, filet mignon, peppercorn grilled sirloin, herb garlic ribeye, broiled lobster tail, Island Salmon, fresh Atlantic salmon blackened and finished with a crab and key lime butter, served with rice pilaf and chef’s vegetables; sweet and tangy mahi mahi, which is grilled and brushed with sweet Chile lime glaze served with rice pilaf and chef’s vegetables; seafood penne is sautéed lobster, shrimp and bay scallops with bell peppers tossed with penne in a masala lobster cream sauce.
