Carolina Beach Police Advisory Cmt.
CAROLINA BEACH - Residents of Carolina Beach have a group of citizens that are ready to assist them with questions regarding Carolina Beach law enforcement.
For a great number of years, the Carolina Beach Town Council has authorized the police department to have a citizen’s police advisory committee. The Carolina Beach Police Advisory Committee (CBPAC) is currently made up of nine residents, all volunteer and all of whom have diverse backgrounds and experience.
From its origination, the CBPAC has developed its primary function to serve as a liaison between residents and the police department. The CBPAC cannot overturn a summons that a resident may receive but it can help one understand the “why” something was enforced or assist in gaining added enforcement. Additionally, the CBPAC can sometimes mediate a problematic circumstance. Recently, a group of neighbors attended a CBPAC meeting wanting to discuss an annoying problem stemming from a business. At this meeting, the business owner was also invited and with a calm and reasonable discussion taking place, a solution that accommodated both parties concerns was reached. The CBPAC is always available to hear residents with their concerns and assist them when possible.
The CBPAC meets the first Monday of each month in the conference room at the rear of Town Hall. The next meeting of the CBPAC is Monday, March 4th at 7PM. Residents are invited to attend.
