Carolina Beach Police are reporting traffic backups leading onto Pleasure Island as much as two miles long. This is due to the ongoing Snow's Cut Bridge rehabilitation project and the holiday traffic headed to the beach. The four lane bridge has been reduced to two lanes during the project. The contractor is working to finish work on the two southbound lanes by early May and then return in the fall to work on the two northbound lanes to avoid summer traffic congestion. Someone just reported that traffic was backed up to just south of the entrance to Ashley High School, Veterans Park area.
