Expect Lane Closures on U.S. 74/MLK Parkway Bridge over Smith Creek and 23rd Street in New Hanover County

WILMINGTON - Weather permitting, bridge inspections will result in intermittent lane closures on the Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway/U.S. 74 bridge over Smith Creek and 23rd Street in New Hanover County beginning Tuesday, April 2 through Friday, April 12. The inspections will be done on weekdays only between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.  Crews will inspect lanes in both directions during the course of the two-week period, but will close only one lane at a time. Motorists should plan for extra time crossing the bridges during that week and use caution in the area.
