NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – New Hanover County Emergency Management officials are working with law enforcement and municipal leaders in preparation of closing the Snow’s Cut Bridge.
During the height of a tropical system, officials closely monitor wind speeds, rain bands and other conditions to decide if and when to close the bridge.

Based on the current forecast of Hurricane Arthur, officials are encouraging residents and visitors of Pleasure Island to prepare for a closure around 6 p.m. this evening. The closure will be dependent on wind speeds and is expected to be short in duration.
