Kure Beach Council Informed Beach Smoking Ban Not An Option

Kure Beach Town Attorney Andy Canoutas informed the Town Council on Thursday July 19, that any future proposal to ban smoking on the beachfront similar to ones proposed in Wrightsville Beach and Carolina Beach is not an option. The Town doesn't have title to the beach and under state law that's required before adopting a ban.

Carolina Beach Postpones New Sign Rules For Patriotic Flags

Flags flying at the Red Hotz golf cart rental business on North Lake Park Blvd in Carolina Beach. The Town Council voted at their July 10, meeting to postpone enforcing new sign regulations concerning the display of patriotic flags to further review new restrictions that would have started July 15.

Kure Beach To Discuss Smoking On The Beach At July 19th Meeting

The Kure Beach Council will discuss smoking on the beach at their upcoming Thursday July 19, meeting. The neighboring Town of Carolina Beach will consider a ban on smoking on the beachfront at their meeting in August. Kure Beach Mayor Dean Lambeth requested the item be added to the agenda for discussion only.
