Obituary: Jack Murriel Tucker

Jack Murriel Tucker from Wilmington, NC passed away June 25th 2014 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was 68. Jack was born in Charlotte, NC on January 21st 1946. He was the son of Hugh Murriel Tucker and Sylvia Smith Tucker. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War in the First Division. He was known as “The Big Red One”. After serving in the army he worked as a foreman with Austin’s Canvis in Charlotte. He also delivered papers on Pleasure Island and drove a cab for Lett’s taxi service for fun. Jack was a loving free spirit who loved to take care of his girls and enjoyed relaxing on the beach at Northend in Carolina Beach. Jack is survived by his sisters: Susan Lovelace, Donna Johnson and Janet Tucker. Daughter: Leslie Rochetti. Nephew: Bobby Johnson. Nieces: Robin Alexander and Angie Lovelace. Great Nephew: Drew Alexander. Great Nieces: Ashley Alexander and Morgan McCracken. A memorial service will be held for Jack Tucker on Saturday, June 28th 2014 at 2pm at the Holy Cross Episcopal Church, 5820 Myrtle Grove Rd, Wilmington, NC 28409
