Hook, Line and Sinker: Local Fishing Report and Photos for August 14, 2013

Capt Mike Harrison
Lucy’s Choice Bay Charters

Hey hey hey!  It’s a beautiful day!  I’m hearing that the Spanish Mackerel have moved back in nearer the beaches!  Maybe the water has cleared up now.   On the piers they’re picking up some small flounder, whiting, spadefish, a few spots, bluefish, croakers, a few black drum, sheepshead, stingrays, and sharks...  In the surf we’re catching red drum, flounder, bluefish, small pompano, stingrays, and sharks. In the waterways, bays, and river you’ll find more and more red drum and flounder, black drum, sheepshead, speckled and gray trout, a few nice size whiting, small cobia and lots of croakers, small black bass, sharks, and stingrays… the “usual suspects” (you know who they are…  pinfish, pigfish & lizardfish)  Be safe, use your sunscreen, and take a kid fishing!  Fish hard kids… school will be starting back soon!
