October 2013 Boating Safety Course Offered by Wilmington Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 10-06

The Wilmington Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 10-06 will hold its “About Boating Safely”, a 7 Chapter course from October 7 to October 24, on Monday and Thursday evenings at the downtown campus of CFCC.  The cost is $35.00. Topics to be discussed include the following: know about your boat, getting underway, navigating the waterways, operating your boat safely, legal requirements, boating emergencies and how to handle them, and the best ways to enjoy water sports with your boat.
The State of North Carolina has mandated that all boaters between the ages of 16 and 26 must take a boating safety course, effective May 1, 2010.  A PWC (Personal Water Craft) is a boat.  This course meets this requirement.
