Mustard Seed Fund Now Accepting Applications

WILMINGTON, NC - Applications are now being accepted by the Mustard Seed Fund, which provides support for high school or college students or adults from southeastern North Carolina who plan to participate in mission trips through qualified nonprofits or faith-based organizations.
The fund was established in 2011 as a perpetual legacy to the memory of Wilmington residents Byron Stratas and Fred Rippy. It is administered by the North Carolina Community Foundation (NCCF). The 2016 application is available on the New Hanover Community Foundation page on NCCF’s website (nccommunityfoundation.org). All application packets (completed application and two letters of reference) must be received by April 30, 2016. 
The review committee will announce awards in May 2016. The review committee will only consider applications for mission trips that begin after June 1, 2016.  mA breakfast was held at Saint Andrews Covenant Presbyterian Church Feb. 12 to honor past award recipients Chris Sutton, Caroline Lemley, and Caroline Balderson. To contribute to the Mustard Seed Fund: Gifts to the fund may be made in many forms, including cash and gifts of stock.  Visit NCCF’s website for information on how to give or to make a gift online. St. Paul's UMC Carolina Beach

St. Paul's United Methodist Church is excited to announce Elisabeth von Trapp in concert, Thursday, February 1 at 7:30 pm in the sanctuary.
Elisabeth is the granddaughter of Captain and Maria von Trapp, whose family story inspired the movie "The Sound of Music." Ms. von Trapp is an accomplished vocalist, instrumentalist, and composer, whose repertoire includes Bach and Beethoven, Broadway tunes and hymns, as well as cherished songs she learned from her grandmother. She was raised in Vermont, and has entertained audiences since an early age, performing extensively in the US and in Europe.
The concert is open and free to the public, however a love offering (suggested $10 donation) will be received. There will also be CD's available for purchase after the concert.
The church is located at 300 Harper Avenue, Carolina Beach.

CAROLINA BEACH, NC - St. Paul's UMC Carolina Beach is selling the Attractions coupon books for $25, and they more than pay for themselves.
Ten dollars from each purchase goes to support Carolina Beach Elementary School's reading programs. Books can be picked up on Sundays after worship, at the church office from 9 to 1 on Monday-Friday, or you can purchase them online by visiting tinyurl.com/ycpzztgp

Blessing Box: CCVC has a Blessing Box to provide individuals or families in need. The portable pantry is available on Sundays and Wednesdays in front of the church from 8:30-5:00. There are bags with nonperishable items to make a meal for 4, toiletries, household and personal items.
Little Free Library: We also have a lending library that is available to take a book and/or leave a book.
GriefShare: A new GriefShare group will begin on Thursday, March 15th from 10-12. Register online at griefshare.com. Cost is $15 for workbook. This is a 13 week program that you can join at any point.
