August 30, 1944 – October 10, 2015
Carolina Beach was more than just a town to Bill - it was a place he cherished for the past 20 years.  He lived, worked and played on the island and was proud to be an island local.
Through this, his life was filled with wonderful people –
Thank you to all the captains and crews at the boat docks who he enjoyed talking to over the years (and for keeping an eye out that his big boat wasn’t stolen from his dock!)
Thank you to everyone at David’s boat yard, which became a favorite stop.  This was the last place he drove himself.
Thank you to his neighbors who grew close to him.  These relationships meant more than you will probably know.
Thank you to all of the employees at both the Carolina Beach and Kure Beach Town Halls.  Whether he was there for business or just to chat, you always welcomed him. He got a real kick out of his name showing up on the CB employee chart!
Thank you to the fire department and police department for protecting our community, collecting gifts for the toy drives and keeping him in the loop (...several funny stories he reminisced about often!)
Thank you to the lovely waitresses at Gulfstream who he saw on a weekly basis for more than a decade.  He always enjoyed being there and seeing your friendly faces.  Thank you also for the butter beans you sent to him these past few months…they were his favorite.
Thank you to all of our homeowners who trusted him to turn their dream home into a reality.  He truly enjoyed building and getting to know everyone.  Wells Construction Corp. will continue with pride and make him proud.
Thank you to all of our loyal sub-contractors whose relationships he valued over the years.  Remember, if he picked on you, it was a sign he liked you.
Thank you to the vendors whom he had worked with from the first house he built to the ones being built today.  He appreciated your fairness, though he was never afraid to ask for lower prices!
Thank you to the other local contractors who Bill considered friends.  He really liked talking contractor to contractor and sharing stories (...and walking through your houses).
Thank you to the realtors who kept him up to date on the local listings, home sales and the latest news.  He appreciated your opinions...and liked to share his :)
Thank you to the “Island Gazette” for publishing a paper that he never wanted to miss.  He enjoyed it thoroughly each week!
With all sincerity, we are grateful for the wonderful people who were a part of Bill’s life.  He valued each and every relationship.
