Apple, Monkey and Train

Have you ever had more than you think you can handle?  Have you ever thrown down an object and said, Ok, that is it.  This is over the top.  I quit?  There are people everywhere right now who are going through hardships and family sicknesses, financial problems, death of a love one, divorce, and the list goes on and on. On Friday recently, I was one of the people who really felt there was no stopping the drama in my life.  An additional problem was that it was minutes before my annual physical.  The physical included an EKG, and I was to see the nurse next.  I asked the receptionist to hold my phone in case one of my problems called back.  The drama in my life had reached new heights.
The nurse having completed the EKG then said, “You need to take the memory test.  I said, “You have got to be kidding.  That is cruel.”  She said,” Either you do this now or you’ll have to come back again”.  She said it kindly. I told her I’d roll the dice and said to begin.
The nurse said, “I’m going to give you 3 words and then I want you to draw a clock with the hands on it saying 7:20.  Then I will ask you to tell me the 3 words.
I began drawing the most beautiful clock.  My artist husband Ken Withrow would have been proud except I put 7:45.  Then I recited the 3 words – apple, monkey, and train.  The nurse correctly told me the time was suppose to be 7:20.  I told her my train was going a little faster so I aced it.  I got 100 and I passed the test. I am sane because I’ve been tested.  The next time you really want to quit, remember with God’s help you can do more than you think you can.  God will give you the strength.
