Ashley Varsity Soccer Stays Perfect with 2 More wins

Eagles Varsity Soccer team picked up another set of big wins this week over Laney & South Brunswick.
The Eagles faced Laney at home first last Tuesday Night and the Eagles quickly picked up their 1st goal. Josh Barnello gave Ashley the 1-0 lead over Laney in the 16th minute after sending a shoot Laney goal keeper couldn’t handle. The Eagles made it a 2-0 game after Duenis Avila took advantage of a Laney’s defense to give Ashley a 2-0 lead now in the 21st minute.
Laney picked up their 1st and only goal after the Eagles defense broke down, but Duenis Avila converts another Eagle goal. Duenis got a assist from his brother Wally for the Eagles 3rd goal in the 54th minute. The Eagles Espin Gilbert-Jennings in the 78th minute picked up a goal giving Ashley a 4-1 lead which would be the final score.
The Eagles followed the Laney win up with a 4-0 win against South Brunswick on the road. The Eagles picked up 2 goals in each half bringing their undefeated season to 17-0 and 9-0 in Conference Play.
The Eagles now enjoy a 2-game lead in the Mid-Eastern Conference Standings and are Ranked 2nd in the State and 6th in the Nation.
